Writing this paper helped me better understand howeducation goes beyond academics and how deeply students’ personal lives affect their success in school. While researching community schools, I realized that many students struggle with challenges such as housing insecurity, financial problems, food insecurity, and mental health issues, and these problems directly impact their ability to learn. Through both scholarly research and the HHSLT case study, I was able to see how community schools attempt to support students as whole individuals rather than only focusing on grades and test scores. Interviewing and analyzing the principal’s perspective also made the topic feel more real and personal since it showed the actual challenges schools face when trying to support their communities with limited resources.

I also feel that this paper helped me grow as a writer and researcher.One thing I am proud of is how I incorporated real examples and data to support my points. Although there are areas I could still improve, such as sentence flow and clarity in some sections, I feel this paper reflects the effort and time I put into understanding the topic. Overall, this research changed the way I view schools and showed me how important community support is in creating better educational outcomes for students.
